Family Description

A family of four genera and 90 species in SE Asia, Malesia, Australia and the Pacific islands; three genera occur naturally in Australia.

Genera

Allocasuarina - A genus of 59 species endemic to Australia. Johnson (1982); Wilson & Johnson (1989).

Casuarina - A genus of 17 species in SE Asia, Malesia, Australia and the Pacific islands; six species occur naturally in Australia. Wilson & Johnson (1989).

Gymnostoma - A genus of 18 species in Malesia, Australia, New Caledonia and Fiji; one species occurs naturally in Australia. Johnson (1980); Wilson & Johnson (1989).
