Stem

Subrhytidome black. Cambial layer turns dark brown to almost black.

Leaves

Leaf blades about 6-10 x 2.5-4 cm. Lower surface of the leaf blade much paler green than the upper surface. Leaves with a drip tip.

Flowers

Male flowers: Flowers about 7-8 x 1.5-2 mm. Calyx tube about 2.5-3 mm long, lobes about 0.5-0.7 mm long. Corolla tube about 7 mm long, lobes about 5 mm long. Stamens nine, about 1.5-2 mm long. Rudimentary ovary sometimes present. Female flower features not available.

Distribution and Ecology

Possibly endemic to NEQ, known only from a few collections made in State Forest Reserve 310, Swipers Logging Area on the eastern edge of the Atherton Tableland and Timber Reserve 55, Whyanbeel. Altitudinal range not known, but collected at 600 m. Grows in well developed rain forest.
