Family Description

A family of about 24 genera and ca. 150 species, mainly pantropic; five genera occur naturally in Australia.

Genera

Apodytes - A genus of about three species extending from Africa to New Caledonia; one species occurs naturally in Australia. Guymer (1984).

Citronella - A genus of about 20 species, pantropic; two species occur naturally in Australia. Guymer (1984).

Gomphandra - A genus of 33 known species, in Asia, Malesia, Australia and the Pacific islands; one species occurs naturally in Australia. Guymer (1984); Sleumer (1969).

Irvingbaileya - A monotypic genus endemic to Australia. Guymer (1984).

Ryticaryum - A genus of 12 species in Malesia, Australia and the Solomon Islands; one species occurs naturally in Australia. Guymer (1984).
